By public bus to Kanchanaburi

Yesterday we took the bus from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi 😬. We took a taxi from our hotel to the southern bus station. There, at the ticket office, we had to figure out which bus departs when and where?!

A very friendly employee 🙈, who we apparently bothered, sold us two tickets for the bus! I asked her if it was a VIP bus 🚌 with air conditioning. It was a miracle that she didn't jump over the counter. She angrily said, yeeees😖! We were told to go to platform 10, that's where the bus departs 😬.

Arriving at platform 10, there was a bus waiting. I saw it and thought it was on loan from a museum 😂. It was truly incredible, I told Daniela that it looked like it was going to collapse 😬! A staff member took our tickets at the door and tore them. She gestured towards the bus and we were allowed to take a seat, anywhere! We chose the seats right behind the driver!

The bus departed on time. Just as we were rolling off the bus station, the same staff member turned to us and said 'Tiiiiicket pleeeeaaaase' 😳! Huh, Daniela looked at me in surprise and asked 'is she joking with us, she just tore them a moment ago' 🙉?! Hmmmm, the staff member gave us a grim look, well then, we handed over our tickets a second time 😖! Unbelievable!

Since we were sitting right behind the driver, I had a great view through the windscreen 🙈! I could see 6 stone chips right away 😱 and the thing was rattling everywhere! Phew, and that for 2 hours 😝! After about 30 minutes of driving, the driver started touching the staff member and laughed like a fool 🙈! She was embarrassed, but she was really strange. Daniela and I were speechless! Well, we had to accept it and I looked out of my dirty window for the rest of the journey!

This time, I was focused on finding great big supermarkets 😊! My imagination started running wild, 😝I wanted and still want a gingerbread man with sprinkles 😂. Help, I said to Daniela, 'listen to my stomach growling'! I just want to be in a Real supermarket right now and buy delicious things 😖! While I was daydreaming, the bus stopped and a woman got on and said 'TIIIIIIICKEEEEET PLEEEEAAAASE!' Daniela thought it was a bad joke, but the lady actually wanted to see our ticket 😖😳! Luckily, we arrived relatively quickly in Kanchanaburi 🙃😜!

Our hotel was fantastic, right by the Bridge over the River Kwai. That's where we went first 😊. You could even walk across the railway tracks and cross the river 👍. The train even came on time, but no one was bothered, they just stood back against the railing and the train 🚂 slowly rolled past the people on the bridge 😊! It was truly impressive ☺️! My gingerbread man with sprinkles popped up in front of my eyes again 🙈! It was time to eat 😬!

The restaurant where we wanted to eat had great reviews 👍! As we looked at the menu, I said to Daniela, I can't stand seeing rice or anything like that anymore 🙈! Then we both spotted the chicken on the menu 🤓! It looked so proper and simply delicious 😋! We immediately ordered the chicken! I still laugh about it 😂. People, the waitress brought us something very crispy and crunchy! I whispered to Daniela, 'what is this or rather, what was this'? There was no meat on it, it was a thin, emaciated piece 😝! We tried to eat it and I just said, 'this can't be happening 😂🙈'!

We couldn't complain because they hardly spoke any English 😖!

After the bad meal, we went to a market. They had great t-shirts👍. Daniela wanted to try one on and check her size 👀, but the saleswoman said 'NOOO you make dööööltyyyyy'! 😝 Daniela was speechless, but I couldn't help but laugh 😂, it was truly unbelievable what we were experiencing! I said, let's go to the other stalls🙃! That's what we did, and we were allowed to try on at those stalls too 😊!

Afterwards, we walked up the main road of our little town 😊! We had never seen so many stray dogs in Thailand 🙈. It's really sad to see how many female dogs have saggy breasts 😒 and how neglected many dogs look 😔! We immediately thought of Littlefoot and are really excited to see the little one (and to eat the gingerbread man with sprinkles 😋).
