Today was a big changeover day, the accommodation, the car, and the island. Since our flight was scheduled for 2:35 PM, we could visit the church in the morning to admire the beautiful flower arrangements. They were skillfully set up and complemented the biblical scenes, all depicted in tile pictures, the blue and white Azulejos. Then we drove through narrow and winding streets to return the Citroen to the car rental, we must have rolled about 650km around the island. The flight to Sao Miguel was delayed by an hour and we arrived around 4.30 PM Azores time. Once again, as in Madeira, we had to set the clocks back by an hour. We quickly picked up the small red VW and drove 16km north near Ribeira Grande. We were greeted by a lovely family-run Quinta and the host immediately gave tips for possible restaurants. We chose TukaTula - the name sounded funny. It is very modern and trendy and was actually fully booked. But if you order a drink at the bar and are prepared to wait, a table will be found. The food was very tasty and freshly prepared. By 7 PM, the sun came out inviting us for a stroll. Afterwards, we took a short exploration tour to the other restaurant recommendations and found all places crowded even on a Tuesday! Let's see what tomorrow will bring? In any case, the country is much flatter, the roads are wider, even with bike lanes, and there are parking spaces...
