Tag 30 - 3rd Advent in the Caribbean, last day on board

Published: 20.12.2017

Today was our last day on board. We visited three more islands. The second one was particularly beautiful and was used for extensive photo sessions (see pictures).

On the way, the Panamanian immigration authorities boarded the ship to check all our passports and stamp an entry stamp in them. A stowaway would not have been noticed in any case, but we were all legally on the ship 😜

By the way, our dinner was purchased from a fishing boat. Today we have lobsters. They were hung alive in a net at the back of the boat and pulled along all day. This is probably not quite appropriate, but at the bottom of the food chain, you don't always have a choice (dear animal rights activists: don't get upset, I'll spare you the details of the slaughter, in comparison, the transport was a wellness vacation for the animals 🤣).

At our last stop on this trip, there was another group shore leave. Julia and I stayed on board because we preferred to watch the lobster slaughtering. Julia also made herself useful 🔪🔪🔪

In the evening, there was a real feast. It tasted really delicious, and one of the most amazing things about this boat trip is how you can prepare really good food for so many people in such a small space. Respect Mono 💪!!

This sailing trip was really great. But five days are definitely enough. You long for a warm shower again. Even if you jump into the sea several times a day, you somehow stick all over your body (saltwater, sunscreen, dirt). I'm just glad I don't have hair on my head. The girls long for a shower even more.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this part of our journey to anyone and would do it again.

We will spend the last night on board and tomorrow we will be picked up by a speedboat at 7:00 a.m. and taken to the mainland of Panama.
