Let's talk about beer

Of course, we also enjoyed a beer or two along the way 🍻

The first beer was a draft from Larue, which was very light, drinkable, and slightly watery.

Next came the Hanoi Beer - which can be compared to Larue, although it tasted a bit more malty. A solid Lager with 5.1% alcohol content.

Now let's talk about the biggest player in the country: Tiger Beer. It's everywhere - in bars and even the waitstaff's uniform. It has more carbonation than the others and the previous descriptions apply here as well.

Is it all the same night? Yep, that was the beer street of Hanoi and there was also a craft beer bar 🤩 the local brewery is C-Brewmaster. We started with the Amber Ale: 6%, with notes of honey and malt. The bitterness in the aftertaste is a bit too strong.

C-Brewmaster also had an India Pale Ale on tap. A really good IPA, considering that Vietnam is not a huge beer country 🍻 it had 7% alcohol and it tasted amazing 🤩🍻

We also enjoyed the Snow White Wheat Ale - a decent wheat beer thanks to the use of German wheat.

In Cat Ba Island, there was a very affordable local beer called Hai Phong. It offered great value for money.

The Big Man Bar on the island brewed their own Pilsner following the German style, and they did a great job. It made us feel right at home and we ended up having one more beer 🍻

In the region around imperial Hue, there was Huda beer. Despite its imperial name, it is similar to most of its predecessors.

We continued with craft beer in Hoi An 🍻🍻🍻 the 7 Bridges Brewery comes from Da Nang and has its own bar there. In Hoi An, we tasted the Heritage Blonde Ale, which had a distinct citrus hop character. The brewery knows their craft, but unfortunately, we didn't have much time in the Da Nang bar.

Ich bin nur der dödel, der immer die Bilder machen darf 😅 Ich trinke schon auch ab und an mal eins, aber bei der Hitze steigt mir das sehr schnell zu Kopf.
