Since we left New Orleans one day earlier, we needed a hotel for an overnight stay.
In Natchez we found the Mangolia. Very nice hotel.
Then we continued on to Memphis. Drive straight ahead for hours
and the streets all looked the same.
When we arrived in Memphis, we were a bit disappointed with the hotel again.
Located directly on train tracks, where a freight train takes 30 minutes to pass by. Well, we have earplugs.
The good thing about the hotel was that they had a shuttle to Beale Street. It cost $3 per person, which we could use.
Beale Street is not very long but very loud :-)
We met some very interesting artists there. Jason James, for example. He performs at the Jerry Lee Lewis Cafe. Definitely worth a visit. https://jerryleelewismemphis.com/
And of course Graceland. Elvis is what Memphis is all about.
That's the only place that is very well maintained.
Much of the city is broken, dirty, or dilapidated.
Elvis can't save that for much longer. However, the visit to Graceland was very impressive.
