Today started early. After a coffee for early risers and a subsequent breakfast, I began my day in a relaxed manner. A key part of my world trip is my analog travel journal, where I document the experiences and impressions of this special journey. After all, I don’t want to just look back on photos later, but also read through the small stories and moments again.
Things got sporty next with shuffleboard, before I had a photo shoot with the ocean view against the backdrop of the endless Atlantic. After that, relaxation was on the agenda: I treated myself to a little refreshment with an AIDA lemonade before it was time for lunch.
In the afternoon, the hosts on board were introduced. After all, one needs to know who is responsible for fun and games in the coming months. Then, I had a little afternoon nap before enjoying coffee and cake. The entertainment continued with “City, Country, AIDA”.
However, the culinary highlight of the day was yet to come: In the evening, I had a table reserved at Rossini. Even the menu sounded promising and was indeed a true culinary experience. On the menu were flambéed goat cheese and venison tenderloin with a black cherry finish. A wonderful evening for the palate!
There was also a little special touch with the bread: Since I’m not particularly fond of ash bread, I requested a swap for onion bread. The waiter actually went downstairs a deck and brought me the desired onion bread from the Buffalo Steakhouse. A great service that I will remember positively!
At Rossini, I also overheard at the neighboring table that a couple must unfortunately cut their trip short for health reasons at the next port on October 21. I only heard the conversation from afar, but the news made me thoughtful. One looks forward to a trip for so long, plans, and eagerly awaits the start – only to be forced to return home early due to health issues. I wish them both all the best from the bottom of my heart!
After dinner, I went to the show with drag artist Megy B., who provided entertainment for the evening. Afterwards, I wanted to check out the “G'miatlichen Quiz Night”. However, it had already begun, so I decided to wind down the evening and return to my cabin at 9:45 PM.
Meanwhile, the sea swells noticeably increased. In the end, I was not only tired but also gently rocked to sleep. 🌊
Tomorrow we will reach A Coruña in Spain. From there, I will head to Santiago de Compostela – a very special destination that I am looking forward to. After the first days on board, the first real shore leave is finally awaiting me.
The world trip is gaining momentum – and the next adventure is already around the corner! 🇪🇸🚢❤️
