The Beginning of the World Trip

The first day was entirely about traveling to the cruise terminal and the long-awaited start of my world trip. At 11:00 AM, I had my check-in time, but I could already drop off my suitcase at 10:30 AM. Exactly at 11:00 AM, it actually started – and what awaited me was simply breathtaking!

A shanty choir provided a festive atmosphere and gave the moment a special vibe. But that wasn't all: after the check-in, crew members lined up, applauding for each guest and cheering us on. An incredibly warm welcome that gave me goosebumps and made me truly realize: Now it really begins, my grand adventure!

My first stop on board took me to the Sol Bar, where I treated myself to a cappuccino. By 12:00 PM, my cabin was already ready for occupancy. The two suitcases I had sent ahead were waiting for me. While I unpacked them, my third suitcase, which I had checked in directly at the terminal, was also delivered. I could settle in and make this my home for the next 126 days in peace.

Once everything was stowed away, the obligatory safety drill was next on the agenda. By 2:00 PM, all the mandatory tasks were completed. From now on, it was finally: Vacation! No obligations, no everyday life, and no work – just the world trip and all the countless experiences that lay ahead of me.

Exactly at 7:30 PM, the AIDAsol set sail and embarked on our great adventure. An indescribable feeling as the ship left the harbor and the journey I had eagerly anticipated for so long finally became a reality.

At 8:15 PM, the champagne buffet was opened, and the festive mood on board reached its next peak. The official closing of this already emotional day was made at 9:00 PM by the entertainment manager and the hotel director. With the three magic words we had all been waiting for, they officially declared the vacation open:

“You are on vacation!” 🥂

What a kickoff! After months of anticipation, years of travel dreams, and countless days of waiting, I am now actually on board the AIDAsol. 126 days, 20 countries, 4 continents – and countless experiences lie ahead of me.

The world trip has begun.
