It's a long way to Byron Bay

Today we have the longest stretch of the route ahead of us. We start quite early with a little coffee stop on our way to Byron Bay. There will be a short break at a viewpoint where we might see kangaroos. And although we all have different feelings, we are lucky: Four kangaroos are scratching their bellies in the shade and hopping around a bit. How cute they really are...
We arrive in Byron Bay over an hour before check-in time and therefore need to find another spot for our lunch. We find a shady place that ends up costing 200€ because we parked next to the yellow line, which is not allowed. Another lesson learned.
However, our apartment makes up for everything, as it is probably one of the coolest accommodations one can imagine. We spend the afternoon here on the terrace, washing laundry and at the pool associated with the complex. Then we take a little walk along the coast and enjoy tacos at the Mexican restaurant. Here we can finally see the starry sky better. 

Byron Bay is a surfing and diving hotspot, with an incredibly cool flair, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful beaches... we see wild koalas, Australian water dragons, a great sunset, and (unfortunately) also a pull-up bar. At the beginning of the trip, I mentioned that my goal is to finally manage to do a pull-up. Now, at every opportunity, a member of our travel group urges me to train. Be careful what you wish for... that's all I can say.
