Arrowtown, Queenstown

For the first time I had an excellent shower at the pool near Cromwell and a 38-degree pool. The best part was there was even a hairdryer, the first time in ages that my scalp has seen a hairdryer. I felt like a new person afterwards. I then drove to Arrowtown and explored the little streets and the Chinese Settlement. The town is a former gold mining settlement. The houses look like it, there are gold and jade shops. I then got something to snack on and walked along the Arrow River Track. I thought I would just go along the water, but no. It went along the river, up the hill, with breathtaking views, waterfalls, and mountains with snow in the distance. At some point, I was really high up; the view was a dream. It was such a beautiful hike that I almost cried because it was just so beautiful. After that, I drove to my overnight spot. The next day I went to Queenstown; it’s smaller than I imagined, but the parking situation was worse than I thought. So I found something, but a lot is very time-limited or costs something. There, I did the Tiki Trail, which probably wasn't so bad, but when you're as dehydrated as I was, it was. I was so glad that there was water to buy at the top. The view was a dream here. I then stepped back down and wandered a bit through the streets, but yeah, I prefer nature over the city. I then went to the library to charge my phone. Tomorrow laundry will be done, and then I’m off to Glenorchy and actually a few tracks, but it’s supposed to rain a lot, so we’ll see what’s possible.
