After a refreshing swim in the sea of Schahaatz, we packed our suitcases one last time in our rental car. Do you know that feeling when you meet people and feel like you've known each other forever? That's how we feel about Roger and Brigitte.
We talked so much this morning that the cleaning lady had to separate us so she could do her job. Although saying goodbye was hard for us (to the house and the roommates), we had to leave, it was already 12:00. We actually wanted to play Frisbee on the way, but we wasted the time talking.
Now we have arrived at our final destination in New Zealand. Auckland.
💡New Zealand's largest city with 1.4 million inhabitants, so every third New Zealander lives here. Founded in 1840 by William Hobson and named after George Eden, 1st Earl of Auckland, a friend and sponsor of Hobson. Until 1862, Auckland was the capital, then it became Wellington. The landscape of Auckland is characterized by more than 50 extinct volcanoes in and around the city. The average summer temperature is 23 degrees and the winter temperature is 15 degrees. Auckland is called a collection of villages by the people of Wellington.
After occupying the room and returning the rental car too late, we explore Auckland and gather our first impressions.
And what should never be missing at this time of year is the Christmas market.
Everyone here is in the Christmas spirit. Celebrations and people dressed in Christmas costumes everywhere.
