Goodbye beloved Montafon

Today it was time for a proper sleep-in. The sun was shining happily through the window, making the muscle soreness in our legs a little less important. Nevertheless, we didn't plan to do anything big today and just quickly pulled out our leisure passes to go to Brandnertal. There, you can also use the mountain railways and here in Montafon, we've already explored almost everything.

So, we went to Brand with the village cable car up to 1400m and then with the panorama cable car another 265m higher. Cute. Yesterday, we were about 700m higher 🤭

Unfortunately, there are no real hiking trails up there, only boring paths back down to the valley, which are highly unexciting. This area is more for mountain bikers who can really have fun there.

A fancy restaurant practically invited us for lunch, which I had been looking forward to the whole time: a good platter with fresh bread, ham, cheese... mmmmh.

But that was only available for 2 people and André discovered roast potatoes with fried eggs for himself. Not a problem, then I decided to have carpaccio. It came with bread and onion marmalade... extremely delicious! But with those prices, it had to be delicious. 😮

Afterwards, we went back to Montafon and desperately tried to find some souvenirs for our loved ones at home, but without success. And we didn't want to buy any nonsense either. So please don't be disappointed 😘

Now we're still chilling in our favorite outdoor location (called terrace) and tomorrow we'll spend a relaxing day at the pool before we start packing our bags. The leisure passes have expired today, so no mountain is calling us anymore.

This vacation here was something completely different for both of us, but unique and beautiful. We enjoyed every day, saw and experienced unbelievable things, and also got incredibly lucky with the accommodation. The leisure passes were the best investment in these 2 weeks, because they made us extremely independent and it paid off after 1 week, because from then on the costs were amortized.

As a tip for you if you also want to come here: always bring some cash, because on the alpine huts, card payment is often not possible for obvious reasons.

So, that's it from us, next year we'll vacation and blog again!
