We leave our lodge after an excellent breakfast and drive along the E6 towards Olderfjord in 10 degrees with light rain. There, we turn off and follow the E69. We travel over mountains, plateaus filled with lakes and rivers. Herds of reindeer graze on both sides of the road. We pass through the North Cape Tunnel, which takes us 200 meters under the sea to the island of Mageroya. The road leads us past fjords to Honningsväg, where a cruise ship is anchored. It is foggy, and we can barely see the car in front of us. Then, after 4033 km and crossing 5 countries, we arrive at the globe of the North Cape at 2:30 PM. Just at the right moment, the fog clears, and a small patch of blue sky opens up over the North Cape. Our destination is reached, but it is not the end of our journey. We drive back 8 km and check in at the Red Camp. At 2 AM, we plan to head back up to the North Cape and hope it will be quieter than in the afternoon.
