Von der Copacobana nach Ipanema ⛱

Our first proper night in Brazil went very well and we woke up early, around 7am local time, at the same time. ☺ For the birthday girl, we treated ourselves to an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. 🍞🍳☕. And with full stomachs, we set off on a walk along the coast.

It was quite windy today, but we really wanted to drink coconut water. What can we say - we were somewhat disappointed. It looks great, but the inside just didn't convince us 😁 

The Copacabana beach leads into the Ipanema beach. So we continued our walk - now at around 10km - through the streets of Rio and past Peter Pan Park 👶 

A few kilometers later, a mountain with a perceived 20% gradient would have awaited us (Marie is known for her realistic assessment 😅) and so we decided to have a little adventure with the Brazilian metro. Great idea, to build moving walkways for the extremely lazy people. 

We decided to take a little break because Bine needed a few minutes of rest - she still denies that it was because of the Caipirinha yesterday 🍹. But don't worry! She's doing great and we're ready for part 2 of Marie's birthday 🎂 we don't want to give away too much, but it's going to be very meaty 😍 And because it's Marie's highlight, this event deserves its own post 🤗
