Tim's Christmas present

Published: 12.04.2019

After continuously traveling for the first few days, we wanted to stay at a suitable campground for a few days. We chose a small, free spot right next to a small, clear lake and next to an artificial canal for power generation. The campsite was in a super quiet location, with the distant Alpine peaks still greeting us... pure nature. Surrounded by water, Tim couldn't contain his excitement and got both a fishing license and equipment. Unlike in Germany, you only need one license here, which can be purchased and is valid nationwide for only NZ$169 for a whole year. A fishing permit is not required in New Zealand. So, 500 dollars and three hours later, Tim could start fishing right away and his enthusiasm was unstoppable. He didn't sleep on the first night and set his alarm for four in the morning. To Caro's delight, there was a small but incredibly tasty fresh catch for breakfast *yummy*.

However, what impressed Tim the most was the atmosphere at sunrise. The Alpine peaks first greeted us from a distance with orange-red peaks, before the whole land was bathed in light. Fantastic, here's a sip of rum from the flask *yummy*.

Hopefully, there will be some updates with more fish catches in the future...
