It's been raining off and on for days and it's more cloudy than sunny. At night I sleep with my fleece jacket on because it's so cold. I thought I would go here for the summer 🤷🏼♀️.
At least today started with a few rays of sunshine, but after I got my camper ready to go, it started to rain again.
Well, then rain again. Today will be largely a driving day anyway. From Dunedin we go to Bluff. At one of the campsites someone left their flyer about the Southerh Scenic Route. This panoramic road goes from Dunedin to Queenstown - that will be exactly my route!
My first stop today is at Nugget Point. A short walk takes me from the parking lot to the point. The sun is shining, but it is very cold and windy. I'm wearing 2 jackets, a hat and the warm scarf again. The nuggets are several rocks lying in the water on a headland.
Back in the camper I make a quick lunch. It's really practical that I now always have everything with me. As a rule, I always forget about lunch and when I get somewhere, I'm already so hungry and my mood is so low that nothing works anymore. So today should be better.
After the sandwich, the journey continues to Purakaunui Falls. A short 10-minute walk takes me to the Falls, which are beautifully situated in a rainforest. The fern grows everywhere and I like it when the fern is just starting to unfurl. I could take hundreds of photos of this. In general, it is so green and densely planted here. The falls also look very, very beautiful, even if they are not huge.
I arrived in Bluff in the late afternoon and the sun actually shines here - not a cloud in the sky - just heavenly!
