Tauranga and the streak of bad luck

On Friday evening, we drove from Waihi Beach to Tauranga in the early morning (the warm shower had to be done)🙈

Arriving in Tauranga, we were able to shower in the public indoor swimming pool for $3 as long as we wanted 😍, then we found a campsite where we could stay overnight for free. We explored the city and in the evening, we went to a bar and treated ourselves to a cocktail and fries. It was so cold at night that the Samaritans came by and brought us warm tea and food. In the meantime, two guys from Rosenheim have parked their van next to ours and we spent the following days together. Saturday was our indulgence day. In the morning, we went to the weekly market with the guys and then walked into the city to go shopping and finally buy beer. In the evening, we decided to drive to a nicer place with the guys where we also had a barbecue and drank a bit.

And then the streak of bad luck began...

During the night, we both got a parking ticket because we didn't follow the parking rules and parked two vans in one spot, and it was the wrong day...

In the morning, we had to shower freezing cold because the showers didn't have a hot water regulator. Then I got Nutella on my white t-shirt, a seagull pooped on me, I broke all our glasses, spilled our salad for dinner all over the van, then filled the van with water, and I had enough and we went to bed.

Tomorrow we are finally going to Hobbiton😍

Conclusion: Tauranga is not worth seeing.
