After waking up, it is wonderfully quiet and we enjoy the warm sunshine on the beach and at the campsite. However, a strong wind comes up a few minutes later, which lasts all day despite the bright blue sky. Therefore, we have breakfast indoors.
Afterwards, we take a beach walk to Sloop Reef, the northernmost campground at Bay of Fires. The further we go, the more it turns into a rock climbing tour. The last 10% of the distance takes just as long as the first 90% and pushes us to our limits. After 3 hours, we finally reach our destination, exhausted and happy. The many photogenic rock formations along the way make up for all the effort and Birgit's torn pants on the rocks.
The small bay at Sloop Reef is so sheltered that it is wonderfully warm and the water is calm. After refreshing in the waves, we take a nap on a warming rock ridge.
