On to the next big city, the capital of Canada.
The drive there was not too long, so we arrived at the hostel in the early afternoon.
We were particularly excited about this hostel, as it is called HI Jail Hostel Ottawa and is located in an old prison building. It was truly a hostel with character.
After checking in and settling into our room, we took some time to explore the city, including the Rideau Canal, Parliament Hill with the government buildings, and the surrounding area. We also took a boat tour on the Ottawa River, which has become our preferred way of sightseeing. In Ottawa, we heard bilingual narration for the first time, as we were very close to the French-speaking part of Canada.
After the tour, we soon returned to the hostel, where we continued our journey the next morning after a great complimentary breakfast.
