I was thrilled to see how many people are taking an interest in my adventure, my journey. Even people I don’t know particularly well have asked if I can share a bit, for example in a Telegram group for those interested. In recent years, I primarily posted photos on Facebook and Instagram while traveling, and I remembered that I had written a blog during a trip to India. I also thought about my parents, who are not on social media.
I would love to hear from you a bit about how you are doing, and of course also if you've read my blog. I can see the numbers, but that alone is still a bit low and very one-sided in communication; I understand if one does not want to use the comment feature publicly.
Most of the time, the internet is stable enough for video calls, so let me know if you are interested in that. The time difference is only one hour, which means that when it’s 6 PM for you, it’s already 7 PM for me.
Of course, I write something different in a blog than in personal conversations, especially when it comes to my workplace or possibly my shared apartment in the future. I have already met a woman for coffee, and we are scheduled for Tuesday so I can see the apartment. She told me she would confirm the date again. If I understood correctly, the apartment is only a 14-minute walk from my workplace, which would be great. It all sounds quite nice. She said she would only smoke in her room or on the balcony. I hope the apartment stays mostly odor-free.
In the Airbnb in Alexandria, I was offered a bed that is probably the most uncomfortable I’ve ever had. It was very hard and had surprisingly large waves. I didn't investigate the whole thing. There were at least two pads on the mattress. I am very grateful that I woke up without back pain. I was quite startled; what if the bed is too uncomfortable? Well, hopefully, there will be a solution.
Some people write to me with questions, many questions. Sometimes I answer right away, sometimes I might also collect them for a blog post. Feel free to ask me, but after a certain number, I need a bit of time to respond. I am also very interested to read what you think about what you read from me.
