The Museum of Appalachia is located several miles north of the city of Knoxville, Tennessee. Numerous huts from the pioneer era and their furnishings can be found there. But objects from bygone times that belonged to the household, entertainment, pasture and livestock farming and other areas of life are also gathered there. Many of the captions are handwritten or typed on a typewriter. The visit is worth it because the objects on display reveal living conditions that were real for people living in the Appalachian Mountains just a few generations ago.
