TAG 2 - New day, new luck

NOVEMBER 01, 2016

So after missing 2 nights, I was accordingly fit ... But off we went to start backpacking! We spent half the day setting up our Australian bank account and getting an Australian SIM card ... And everywhere we encountered women with pretty / fancy dresses, high heels, and fascinators in their hair (the ladies, for example, who have to dress accordingly in the public sector) ... The question was why all the fuss? Jozy and I were naturally pragmatically dressed in a sporty street style ... That makes you feel so much prettier :D But we found out the reason for this extravagant clothing: Every year on November 1st is the Melbourne Cup (a horse race and apparently one of the events of the year for Australians). So what does one do when in Australia: bet on a horse - said, done!

The horse that Jozy bet on even got 2nd place ... But unfortunately, it didn't bring us the hoped-for win.

So let's continue with the exploration tour ... We went to Southbank Park ... What a beautiful part of the city! Truly so dreamy .... But pictures say more than a thousand words ...

Today I really fell in love with Brisbane .... And there are still 5 more days to come!
