NYE 2016 in Sydney

Published: 01.01.2017

So for New Year's Eve in Sydney, the long journey was definitely worth it now! Others had been camping by the harbor since morning to reserve a spot with the best view, and we relaxed by going out for sushi before heading to our harbor party in the evening.

The cool thing here is that you're allowed to bring your own alcohol into the restaurants, and we took advantage of that to celebrate the day. The party itself was really great too! We had free access to all the rides, there were people our age everywhere, and there were 2 or 3 clubs where we could dance. It was the perfect mix!

And even though it was just the two of us, it didn't get boring... The highlight, of course, was the fireworks - and you have to give it to the Australians: they didn't exaggerate! It was truly impressive, and we had a great view of the Harbour Bridge.

All in all, a fantastic start to the year 2017 that we won't forget anytime soon! New Year's Eve 2016 in Sydney is over.... and so is the first half of our trip!

Now we're taking some time to recover from last night before finally heading to New Zealand tomorrow. I'm so excited to see what it's like. Then we'll be 12 hours away from German time... really on the other side of the world xD.
