Day 16 Siem Reap

Published: 07.03.2023

As planned, our day started without a plan. First, we had breakfast at the hotel. The only difference was that there were pineapples instead of melons 😍

Pineapple in the morning keeps sadness and worries away

Afterwards, we simply walked into the city. We did some shopping at the market.

Market hall

At the food stalls in the hall, a rat ran towards us briefly. I screamed so loudly that everyone probably heard it, and Katha laughed so hard. In retrospect, I find it funny myself. Then we continued shopping, well, mainly looking and not buying anything.

Apparently really wanted to wait for Katha until she made her decision

In between, we had a good iced coffee for both of us.

Street view of the ice cream café. We just found it cute

And shortly afterwards, a fruit ice cream sundae.

Actually, we didn't do anything else but stroll through the markets for a really long time and take breaks every now and then. It was just relaxing. In the early evening, we had dinner as we were picked up at the hotel at 6pm to be taken to the night bus to Kampot.

I'm always so excited for dinner

Then, as mentioned, we were picked up and taken to the night bus. When we booked, we were told that we would be lying next to each other.

But no one told us that we would be lying next to each other in a bed no more than 90cm wide. I don't know whether to laugh or cry 🥲😅 for another wonderful night.

Our sleeping place (by the way, I'm laughing here, even though it looks like I'm crying or in pain)
