Townsville

We are slowly getting used to our camper! It is still too small - it lacks a place where you can retreat.

Today we decide to go to the aquarium to prepare for our snorkeling tour .... Mika also really wants to see the turtle hospital. Here in Australia, we are always asked where we come from. Everyone wants to know which region and the nice cashier at the aquarium asks if Daniel is maybe only 17! We tell him that he is already 18 and therefore 'adult', but he still smilingly charges the child price for him.

The aquarium is very nice and gives us a sense of the incredible animal world that Australia has to offer!

The turtle 🐢 hospital only has 3 patients - luckily! Overall, I had imagined it differently - but it gives us a sense of how big turtles 🐢 can be => weighing 130 kg!!

After the visit, we go to the beach to barbecue on these great plates. There is a nice water playground and Mika realizes that we stupidly forgot the bathing suit at home, until he realizes that we always have it 'at home' with us... I've had the same experience. 😂

Townsville is a nice little town with a red mountain on which crazy houses are built. It has a nice harbor with small yachts and very beautiful houses with these great Victorian-style balconies!

In the evening we are at the campsite and everyone is in a bad mood. Unfortunately, it's part of it! Cabin fever - we have been on the road for a long time and are getting on each other's nerves a lot!!

A good night's sleep and the world will definitely look better again!
