The weather is slightly better, we are now heading to the mountains, specifically to the Alpujarras, along beautiful high-altitude roads, passing some of the famous white villages here (you can choose whether they're whitewashed due to Moorish influences or to curb cholera.
Since it gets cold up here at night (below 10°), we are taking an apartment in the village of Bubión, at nearly 1300m above sea level.
From the terrace, we can see the sea on one side and the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada (with the highest mountain, Mulhacén, at 3482m) on the other.
In addition to two (smaller) hikes, we will explore the area both culinarily and culturally - the Flamenco performance by the local(!) Flamenco teacher with about 20 guests in her small studio was simply wonderful.
