Finally arrived. After a 3-hour, quite turbulent flight and another 4 hours on the bus with chatty Spaniards, I'm now in the hostel. I just managed to check in before 10:30 pm, but unfortunately there was nothing proper to eat. And no English is spoken here in the hostel! The 'luxury room' that I wanted to treat myself to for the first night consists of a bed, a chair, and, fortunately, a sink. Shower and toilet are in the hallway. But other than that, it's okay. At least I was able to do a first load of laundry in the sink. And with hand gestures, I was able to order a San Miguel and a Boqadilla con Chorizo (baguette with salami).
On the way from the bus station to the hostel, I was able to catch a glimpse of the cathedral, but I'll take a closer look tomorrow morning. Hopefully, the weather forecast holds true and it stays dry. And hopefully, I'll find a decent café for breakfast. Earlier, everything looked closed and deserted, which is unusual for Spain at 10 pm. It has only just gotten dark...
