Three days in Bangkok have already passed and they were intense.
Bangkok is a bustling city with almost 15 million inhabitants, yet everything runs so harmoniously. Whether it’s the traffic, which functions smoothly despite the lack of traffic rules, or the always clean sidewalks and the wonderfully maintained greenery throughout the city. It is indeed a city with a lot of charm, even though it can feel a bit overwhelming for sensitive people. Especially in the beginning, combined with homesickness, it wasn’t easy for me here.
I came from Heidelberg, where I had an incredibly beautiful time in the weeks leading up to my departure. And then to find myself on the other side of the world in 14 hours, where everything is different, is initially difficult. I felt very sad to be away from home, although this sadness only shows how grateful I am for everything I have in Heidelberg.
However, the more hours I spend here, the more I realize that my mind is slowly catching up. I increasingly realize that I will have a beautiful and intense time here in the coming months, which no one can take away from me, and that will allow me to get to know myself better, challenge me, and shape me.
In these three days here, I have already eaten so much good food, received the best massage, been to many malls with wonderful food courts, and discovered my love for old buses with open windows!
Right now, I am sitting on a 12-hour night bus and I’m excited to explore the north of Thailand! Experiencing a bit more peace, culture, and nature will be very nice :)
