It was six o'clock in the morning when I was woken up by the rain outside. After a short game of Skat on my mobile phone, I got up and woke up Flo and Marie while I was taking a shower. But that was also my goal, because we wanted to leave at eight o'clock.
The first stop of the day was the Desert View at the Grand Canyon. After the obligatory photo and the GoPro, which has been dutifully documenting everything so far, we jumped back into the car.
We drove to Monument Valley. The destination was on my wish list, because in my eyes it represents a part of the route that you should have driven by car in the USA. (If anyone should question this, please let him or her speak up.)
The way there was characterized by red rocks, thunderstorms, and a view that even Northern Germany could learn something from.
In the early afternoon, we made the obligatory stop at the fast food restaurant. Then we headed for our destination today. Page, which is located directly on Lake Powell, is a small sleepy town that will be our home for two days.
