In just under 2 weeks it's starting and things are starting to get serious..

Yesterday my abaya and headscarf arrived in the mail. Fortunately, both are made of a light and 'airy' fabric - I was expecting a heavy cotton fabric where I would melt at 35 degrees ;-)

By the way, I had to realize that it's quite difficult (at least for someone as unskilled as me) to drape and pin the headscarf in a way that looks somewhat decent.

Thanks to the internet, I have already found a lot of tutorials that have helped me.

Even though the items are quite well-made and I have mentally and morally prepared myself to wear them (at least outside the campus), it is still quite unfamiliar and I am glad that I can walk around the KAUST campus in Western clothing ;-)
