Sounds strange but it's true :D
On this winter day, the outside temperature was 16 degrees.
So we thought we could go to the beach.
Not far from the city center there is a long beach. It looks like it surrounds the entire island, the beach is soooooo long :D
It can be reached by bus in half an hour.
It was very windy at the beach, which caused high waves and attracted many surfers.
It was very nice to see them surfing in the first waves.
From a platform in the sea (New Brighton Pier) you could observe them very well.
We took a walk along the beach and the adjacent hiking trails (like a dam). Benches along the way invited us to take a break and admire how beautiful it is there.
We also explored the streets and small shops in the New Brighton district and got a coffee 'to go' or as it's actually called in English 'for takeaway'.
On the way home, we treated ourselves to a sub from Subway. :D
It was wonderfully warm, windy with pure sea air, surfers and seagulls.
