Wanaka

Wanaka is located 70 kilometers north of Queenstown and at the southern end of Lake Wanaka.

In summer, it is a popular place to spend your vacation, with water sports activities and hiking. In winter, it is a great place for skiing and snowboarding. Beautifully situated with stunning mountain scenery.

Today we hiked along the Wanaka Millennium Walkway on the coast, with great views of the lake. You can also rent mountain bikes and explore the trail that way.

All in all, New Zealand has managed to balance nature and tourism.

There are no big buildings or hotels, and you can fully enjoy the beautiful nature. It feels so far away from everything and it's peaceful. Wonderfully relaxing.
