At 4:30 AM, we had a quick coffee/tea and a breakfast doggy bag before heading by boat to Tambopata National Park. A footpath led to Lake Sandoval, where we cruised along the shore by boat. In addition to various birds, we spotted black caimans and otters. During our breakfast stop on land, we saw monkeys. Along the footpath to and from the lake, there were information signs about plants and animals in the jungle. We returned just under an hour before lunch and first took a short nap. Since that wasn’t enough, we took a second nap after a walk. Before dinner, we went on a night walk, where we saw tarantulas and a scorpion, among other things. Early to bed and sleeping in - just like on vacation. By half-past nine, we were still dead tired in bed and managed to sleep until just after six. When our neighbors’ alarm rang in the middle of the night, we were briefly delighted and then continued sleeping.
