After a cozy breakfast, two main activities were planned for today. An AIFS workshop at the AIFS office in Sydney, followed by a surfing lesson @ Lets Go Surfing. The orientation workshop started at 11 am, where we were given a briefing on New Zealand habits, differences in everyday life, school, culture, etc. We also got to try some New Zealand snacks like Timtams and Meatrolls. Since the bus system in Sydney is quite cumbersome, it took us a good hour to finally arrive at Bondi Beach. You can immediately tell that this beach is great for surfing, as it is crowded with surfers and regular beachgoers. After a briefing and a crash course in surfing, we headed straight into the ocean, where we quickly realized that surfing is not as easy as it seems. The particularly talented ones, as well as those with experience in skateboarding and snowboarding, were definitely in the minority. As a consolation prize, we all received a surfing certificate. After another long bus ride through Sydney, everyone prepared for the last dinner, which we had at a really good burger restaurant. Then, we split up into smaller groups to spend our last night in this beautiful city. My group and I got lost and arrived a little late back at the hotel. Despite the fact that we had to leave at 4 am the next morning, we spent the entire night in various other rooms and made the most of our time in Sydney.
