Week 29 - Change of direction to the north

After changing my travel route last week, on Monday I made a detour straight to the north.
On Monday, I visited Baldersnäs Nature Reserve. I continued further and further north, through hundreds of kilometers of forest. So far, I am not tired of the forest. Rarely have I had so many forest pictures on my camera ;-)

On Wednesday, I arrived at the waterfall and canyon Helvetesfall. I stayed overnight in a hiking parking lot in the middle of the forest. The fact that it hardly gets dark anymore gave me a sense of security. Currently, it is dark for about 4 hours from 11 PM to 3 AM.

The next day, I continued to Hamra National Park. The forest here is considered a primeval forest. The trails are well signposted and really beautiful. Due to the rain in the past few days, parts of the trails were swampy, so some parts were not accessible.

On Friday, I saw my first wild moose by the roadside. I immediately slowed down, afraid that it would run in front of my car. One picture later, the moose disappeared into the forest again.
However, I got close to the moose on Sunday at the Moose Garden. There are 6 moose living here, which are completely tame because they grew up with humans. The special thing about the Moose Garden is that they produce various products. For example, they make moose cheese, soap, or paper from moose droppings. They became famous for the latter and even made it to Galileo on Pro7. A very special experience!

After that, I spent Sunday in Östersund.
So, by now, I have left the touristy south and steadily drive north.
