It's finally time to see the turquoise sea and the beach! We are excited! We went there by speed boat! We were expecting a bumpy ride, but it didn't happen. Luckily, we had already booked our hotel because as expected, many people were waiting for us and wanted us to check in at their hotel or be driven to the hotel by a horse-drawn carriage.
It was quite exhausting because we didn't have time to absorb everything, instead we were constantly thinking about how to quickly get out of the situation. The horses also have to work really hard in the heat.
There are no cars or scooters on the Gili islands, so you can only get around by walking, cycling, or using a horse-drawn carriage! It's currently the low season. Good for us, we don't want to know what it's like when it's crowded!
We spent the days relaxing. We went to the Sama Sama Bar and listened to live reggae music, had a nice dinner in the evening, and went snorkeling and even saw turtles. We also tried stand-up paddling - pretty cool on the sea. We explored the island by bike, which you can rent cheaply everywhere, and it's not as tiring as walking. The days pass by quickly, and so does our time in Bali!
Next stop - Australia, we're looking forward to you!!
