Our hostel parents served us a really lovely breakfast - with fresh bread rolls and homemade jam 😀 They were really sweet - the hostel father found my attempts to translate with my phone a bit mysterious, he didn't quite trust the technology and just kept explaining things in Portuguese. The Portuguese seem to like to talk anyway, whether anyone understands or not, as long as they talk 😀

We met our two fellow guests in the Casa several times a day - Ulle from Recklinghausen (apparently he also knows HP Kerkeling) and his Frauke - a funny couple who had very different running styles during the day (he almost jogging and she almost discouraged). The path has it all.

We started in the morning fog - which was a relief after the heat of the previous day, and for the first time we walked on beautiful field paths and through eucalyptus forests. It was very easy to walk and we made good progress 😀

During our lunch break, music was playing in the middle of the forest - it came from a small church on a huge plateau, from where you had a wonderful view of the surroundings. The little church seems to be a place of pilgrimage, the area around it consisted of very old stone benches and tables, and all of that under cork trees. A very spiritual place.

Just before Barcelos, our destination for today, we meet some students from a school in Hamburg (why not right in the middle of the Camino de Santiago 😀)

We walk together for a while and try to shake off the wild little cats 🐱🐱 following the kids - which we don't really succeed in doing 😒 you shouldn't attract the free animals here in the first place.

When we arrive in Barcelos, we find our little hostel right away and are once again glad to be able to take a shower 🚿
