Mount Iron in Wanaka was our destination this morning. A 9 km circuit walk with a fantastic view at the top. Great. Unfortunately, it started raining on the way back and it got a bit wet. To pass the time, we drove to Cardrona to have a drink at the oldest hotel-restaurant-café in New Zealand. Among other things, we also passed by the Cardrona Bra Fence, yes, the bra fence of Cardrona. In late 1998, 4 bras were hung on a fence on a farm for the first time, and over time more and more women hung their bras there. While we were there, 2 women took off their bras.
On the way back to the accommodation, the rain stopped and we were able to make a detour to the historic bridge over the Kawarau River Bridge. Bungee jumpers also gather here and take the leap into the turquoise water. Yeah, just the thought of it makes me break out in a sweat.
Tomorrow we continue into the mountains, I hope the weather forecast, rain, doesn't come true to the full extent.
