We woke up on the campsite after a busy day yesterday, which now has a completely different atmosphere in daylight. I take advantage of the first rays of sun and the tranquility and go for a walk. However, during my first visit to the area, I notice that I am not alone. Directly above me, within reach, hangs the largest spider I have ever seen outside of a terrarium. For a few seconds, I am overwhelmed by a mixture of curiosity, shock, and disgust.

I leave the eight-legged colleague in the shed and return to the car. We sit by the river with binoculars and observe some birds and turtles sunbathing on the riverbank. After a hearty breakfast, we play a few games, enjoy the good weather, and then decide to continue driving around noon. From now on, we are heading south to Melbourne.

We stop at a shopping center where we lose each other within five minutes and it takes half an hour for our two teams of two to find each other again. Then we drive to the city center of the small town, and while Jonna and Ines go shopping in the thrift shops, Carsten and I are very efficient and get an adapter for our water hose, a larger French press coffee pot, and as a reward, we can even have a caffeinated hot drink at the next café.

From there, we drive to the next campsite, this time a little earlier to avoid arriving in the dark again. It is located directly by a river, including an old wooden bridge. As previously announced in online reviews, the place is claimed by some sort of hippie commune. However, they don't really stand out except for the smell of grass and some off-key guitar music.

There is even a pool next to the bridge that is deep enough for Ines, Carsten, and Jonna to take a short swim. A cozy dinner is followed by an even cozier game night, which is eventually interrupted by various insects.
