Travis talks about big and small

G'day!

I promised you that I would report about the little house. Tiny House is the correct name. It was actually small, but it had everything you need. It was built into a shipping container:

Small house in great surroundings

The kitchen and bedroom were next to each other and you could look out into the vast outdoors. My older ones said that at night with the door open (with a mosquito net in the door frame) it's like being in a tent, only better.

It was still raining when we arrived
The tiny house
Small, but everything is there

The bathroom was inside and then there was a lot of space outside, covered and open. With seating areas and tables.

And - I had never seen this before - a piece of fabric between two trees. You could get sucked into it and it would rock. It's called a hammock. It was very comfortable.

My oldest and I in the hammock

A dear friend of my oldest wrote that she also has one of those and that I can swing in it when we get back. I thought that was really nice of her. Thanks in advance for that.

Well, there was a huge plot of land around the small house. With animals and lots of plants with delicious fruits on them and a hill where you could look down. It's called Sunset Hill.

View from Sunset Hill

It could also be called Sunrise Hill because you can also see the sunrise from there. So, my English is getting better and better. Sunset, sunrise and stuff like that...

Sooo much scenery!

After a leisurely breakfast outdoors, we set off again.

And stopped several times along the way. Often in places called Lookout. This is also English, you know. And means something like “(R)lookout”

Sometimes these lookouts were pretty high up and I was a little scared. But with holding on, it was possible to look down:

Pretty high up here
Wooaaahhh!
Here you can see all the way to the sea!
More and more practiced up here

And at some point I was no longer so afraid that I might fall down. My adults took good care of me.

We didn't just look down. No, we always walked around somewhere and explored the area. Mostly these were forests. Jungle or rainforest.

And I'm telling you, there were soooo big trees! Wooaaahhh!

Way up there is the treetop

In between we had to fortify ourselves. We found a really nice place in Montville. Not only could you look very far down there, but you could also eat pretty tasty food. It was called “The Edge Restaurant.”

Delicious lunch (that's English for lunch)

We saw something else big. A giant plastic koala. It was actually really cheesy. But then we wanted a photo. Because of the size comparison:

Little and big bear

We also found something small: there was a sign for a waterfall. And I told you about the really big waterfall some time ago. Well, we're getting there anyway and now look at what we found:

Waterfalls

A nice place, also suitable for swimming. But now that I've gotten around a bit with my older ones and seen a lot, I can say: that was a pretty tiny waterfall.

We also had to say goodbye again today. Namely my older ones' shoes. The weird ones that hold between your toes. It doesn't look particularly comfortable to me, but my feet don't have toes. They're called flip-flops, I think. The shoes. Funny name, don't you think?

Well anyway, they were broken and my oldest had to buy new ones. She was a little sad, I think, because she probably liked the broken ones.

Bye, broken flip-flops!

Now we have arrived here at accommodation in the mountains, from which you can see the sea and the city of Brisbane in the valley. Also a nice “lookout”.

Although sometimes I have the feeling that people don't look out at a particularly beautiful lookout, but rather look inside themselves. Then you become a little quiet and withdrawn. But maybe that's just how it seems to me.

I'm just a little buddy bear. What do I know?

I just keep watching and learning. It remains exciting.

See you soon and greetings from Travis the Buddy Bear.
