Our final safari begins today at seven.
We will soon encounter a pride of lions with some cubs. Our driver will bring us to within three meters of the kittens. We will be instructed to keep our arms and legs inside the vehicle and to remain quiet.
It is very surprising how calmly the animals allow themselves to be stared at.
The cubs that the lionesses have are already at least 2 to 3 months old.
Since the younger lion cubs cannot see properly yet, they are hidden by their mothers to keep them safe.
Just after nine, a table will be set with coffee, tea, and muffins.
We appreciate this provision, but it is a bit decadent.
As the morning progresses, the temperature steadily rises, and we occasionally feel like we are sitting in a convection oven.
Many elephants cross our path.
Our last destination is the hippopotamus pool, where we will be able to observe a scuffle between two hippos.
Unfortunately, there are some sick-related absences, and we are glad to be back at our lodge to escape the heat a bit.
