Today is already the 28th of December! Time passes by so quickly.

We left at 9:00 am towards Kandy and saw some interesting things on the way.

First, we visited a huge golden Buddha statue in Dambulla.

Shortly after, we stopped at a Spice Garden.

There, a guide showed us how cinnamon, pepper, pineapples, and many other herbal plants, some of which are endemic, are grown. There is a remedy for every ailment.

Then we went to a legendary Hindu temple: The Sri Muthumariamman Thevasthanam.

Hindus believe in so many different gods and express this in an impressive way on ceilings, roofs, and walls. I could watch the sculptures for hours.

Some time later, we finally reached the royal city of Kandy, but it felt like hours to reach the hotel because the traffic in larger cities is indescribable.

The view from Senani Hotel is fantastic, but unfortunately, the weather is still not cooperating.

There is a pool here and a sign warns to keep the windows closed, otherwise, unwanted guests might appear: monkeys!
