Namibia-lots of emptiness and a few animals

After a short stopover (one night) in Springbok, we arrived at the Namibian border, where our car was searched. Everything was still polite and we were allowed to keep everything. On the way, we visited the hot springs in Ai-Ais and met the German couple again. The springs, with a temperature of 65°C, did not really invite us to take a bath. We then arrived at the Roadhouse at Fish River Canyon. This place is in the middle of nowhere. On the way, we already saw oryxes, ostriches, red hartebeests, and a lot of quiver trees. As we approached the canyon, we were surprised by zebras. The canyon offered a great view. Then we discovered a small hole with a fluff ball. It turned out to be a striped ground squirrel. Very cute. 😄 We are currently in Klein Aus. Again, in the middle of nowhere. Yesterday, on a short hike, we saw another oryx and horses 'grazing'. Today, we wanted to see the wild horses and go to the sea in Lüderitz. There were two oryxes fenced directly at the accommodation because one was injured. You could even pet them, you just had to be careful because of the antlers. Lüderitz was not very exciting, but we spotted some seals by the sea and indulged in our shell collecting passion. We also ate in a small café, where pork roast, liver loaf, and Claustaler were on the menu. On the way back, we were lucky because the wild horses were just visiting the waterhole. Tomorrow we will continue to Sesriem. There we will probably experience complete dryness. We are excited.
