Ho Chi Minh City

And back on the bus and back to Ho Chi Minh City!

I had made a mistake with the location of my hostel here and was not, as expected, in (backpacker) district 1 but near the airport. But since I liked it so much, I stayed there.

The city is loud and chaotic. The traffic is absolutely crazy! There seem to be no rules. At the intersections, scooters come at you from all directions. Often, people also come towards you on your own lane.

At first, crossing the streets was a bit difficult for me. But there's only one solution: start walking and don't stop!

There is, of course, a lot to see in Saigon. The War Remnants Museum touched me in particular. It makes you realize again what humans are capable of! I was particularly shocked by the images of all the dead (including many children) as well as the people who are born disabled and with terrible deformities due to the Agent Orange poison which was sprayed by the Americans over large parts of the country. Even today!

In Vietnam, I had problems with my stomach for the first time ever in Asia (that's why I didn't see or take many photos of the city). And to my delight, it lasted for the next few weeks... Maybe it's time to go home! ;-)
