The past days in New Zealand were rather slow.
After we crossed to the South Island last week by ferry, Tamara was hit by the flu and therefore we couldn't do much.
So the days were rather exhausting and slow for me as well.
We drove a lot, couldn't stay at sights for longer than half an hour because she just wanted to rest.
We spent two days at a campsite in Nelson, which was pretty central.
So I could take a stroll through the city, go hiking, and relax at the beach while Tamara was recovering.
However, that wasn't enough, which is why we rented a room in Arrowtown for three days. There are beautiful trails there and it's close to Queenstown and the beautiful Lake Wanaka.
The South Island is generally incredibly beautiful. It's a bit rougher than the North Island and reminds me partly of Iceland. Lots of water, impressive mountains, and rushing rivers. Here you can still experience untouched nature.
So far, the weather has always been on our side and we've had sunny and dry days, occasionally a bit cloudy. Until now.
It's been raining for two days and according to the weather report, it will continue for the next two days. But as they say, there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing!
