Hello everyone,
So on the 11th of August, I started from the Monolith Hotel in Idrija around 8:30 am. Very long and steep ascent. Because people keep building higher and higher up the slopes here, the trail was only discoverable thanks to the app. In the forest, the storm had made it even more difficult to find the trail. This stage is the longest so far, 24.5 km, with the most elevation gain, 1500 m. In the evening, I stayed at a not so clean accommodation in Gorgan, but there was a delicious menu (Jota) with cabbage and other ingredients. It was very tasty! I slept well here, even though everything was a bit dirty. We had to cook our own breakfast, scrambled eggs with bacon. The coffee in Slovenia is very strong!
August 12th. Ermanovcu > Porezen
I started off well, but then encountered some surprises. At the beginning, it was a nice gentle descent through the forest and meadows. Then it started! The planned restaurant was closed, and the trail started to go steeply uphill, not just for one hour, but for about four hours. But at the forest limit, the views got better and even Triglav came into view. The hardships were rewarded with a beautiful sunset. Only basic washing was possible at Porezen and there was a squat toilet for the men!! The ladies could sit.
