Arrival in Arequipa

My accommodation is on a highway, but the house is not directly on it, but first there is a large garden. The staff is very accommodating and I could go to my room at 10 a.m. I had booked three days, but I will do the Golden Canyon tour, where I will sleep in another hostel. That's why I was able to clarify with the accommodation here that I only needed 2 nights. Super friendly. It's an old house, but the room is great, bed comfortable and a big garden to chill out in this evening. After freshening up briefly, I set off. I actually wanted to be there earlier and do the walking tour, but I decided to go to the Santa Catalina monastery and then briefly explore the city and then at 1:45 p.m. I'll be picked up for the next tour. I have to say that the entrance fee to the monastery is 45 soles (around €11), but for that you get to see a lot. I was there for probably 2 hours and saw most of it, but I couldn't give myself much time. You can also spend half a day there relaxing. Unfortunately I don't have the time. I have to say that I really like Arequipa in general. It's a shame that I basically only have today. Tomorrow I'm doing the 2 day tour. I really have to give up the idea of wanting to see everything. That will not work. That's why I'd rather enjoy what I do. The monastery is the largest in Peru and all rooms were described with texts (also in German). Church music was usually played in the background. You could also book a guide, but you would have WiFi and an audio guide with the app. I found it really interesting and I learned a lot. Then I went to the main square and looked at the church there. I got something to eat and then sat in the sun. I'm slowly getting tired. That's why I went to the hotel, showered and then waited for my transport...
