17th-26th of September 2020: Athens (Greece)

After our visitors have left, we want to return to Athens for two days to think about our next steps in peace. But we feel a slight travel fatigue after these intense days with six people, full of beautiful impressions. So strolling through now familiar streets in this great city and relaxing on our huge terrace overlooking the Acropolis feels a bit like home, and the two days turn into four and then eight.

After a week of 'vacation' with the grandparents, it's time for some homeschooling again, and this almost everyday structure is good for all of us, and we enjoy letting ourselves drift a little in the afternoons without much program: sometimes to the beach, sometimes to the museum: In the Acropolis Museum, we admire the 3,000-year-old statues and frescoes of the battle between Athena and Poseidon, and at the Museum of Modern Art, we get impressions of today's artistic confrontations with current struggles. By the way, the kids are most interested in the toilets of the museums, which are so super modern in the Acropolis Museum that they must be mentioned here!

After eight days, our exploration batteries are recharged, and when we continue on Saturday, we are back in travel mode and looking forward to two days in Meteora.
