Today we took part in the Great Ocean Road Tour.
The Great Ocean Road stretches over 400 km and is the southwest coastal section of the state of Victoria. It is famous for its scenic diversity.
Bryan, our guide, picked us up at 8 a.m. in a mini-van. He knew a lot about Australia as he has experienced a lot at the age of 70 😃
The beaches were stunningly beautiful, but unfortunately too cold for swimming. We also made a few stops in nature and saw two koalas and a few birds of paradise.
In the afternoon, we made a short detour to the rainforest. Bryan showed us very old trees that are up to 700 years old and had funny formations. We didn't see any wild animals because this area is too cold. However, there is supposed to be a tiger snake living there...
We immediately noticed the absolute silence in the rainforest as we couldn't hear any animals, cars, or people. Very unusual and fascinating at the same time.
After lunch, we set out on the long journey to the Twelve Apostles, which can be found in the next blog post.
