Today we had a day trip to Glacier National Park on the agenda. Get up at 6 a.m. to secure good parking spaces in the park.
After a tour of the visitor center, we went to the approximately 7 km long Avalanche Trail. The climb was really sporty and took about 1.5 hours. In the end we were rewarded with a wonderful landscape and the turquoise-green Avalanche Lake. After enjoying the view and our lunch, we headed back down the trail. Once we reached the bottom and took a short break, we drove the “Going to the Sunroad” pass by car. There were various parking options on this pass road so you could enjoy the great landscape.
In the late afternoon we went back to our campground. Unfortunately, we discovered that our water tank for fresh water on our camper was leaking. Tomorrow we have to use the service hotline because not all campgrounds have fresh water. Tomorrow we'll continue towards Chester in Montana where we'll spend the weekend with Larissa's host family.
