Assuming the drive to Dunedin will be quite boring, we were pleasantly surprised several times. On the way, we turned towards Slope Point, the southernmost point of New Zealand (apart from a few islands). It is fascinating that from here, the next landmass to the south is Antarctica. You can only go further south in South America.

Continuing on the Southern Scenic Drive, it would probably take several days to stop at every POI.

We then made stops at some beautiful bays and beaches, as well as Nugget Point.

Here, it is particularly noticeable how New Zealand has a fast change of landscapes, from green hills to rainforest to mountains to bays and beaches.....

The New Zealanders are also very creative in the design of their mailboxes, using old microwaves, washing machine drums, etc., or something self-designed.

...and maybe we will find out why there are tidy giant hedges standing in the middle of the fields that end in the middle of the field...
